Tempered 1 & Tempered 2 is a Diptych that I produced for a Waterbased media Show present at the Oregon Society of Artists. This was my second time being shown in a gallery so I wanted to create something unique. A diptych is an artwork consisting of two pieces or panels that together create a single art piece. I wanted to do a Diptych because I wanted to create two works that could stand alone by themselves but then when put together created a lot of movement between the two works. I decided to title them tempered because when i was producing the pieces I was constantly adding up layers and layers of marks to produce the final result. I thought this idea really resonated with Tempered because I felt like a blacksmith hammering away at the metal in order to produce a finish blade.
